Jira renamed Epics
If the original Jira-"Epic" got renamed in your Jira (e.g. to "Feature"), you need to re-map this by hand. This is a common case when you try to implement a structure in Jira to use it with SAFe. To rename the Jira-"Epic" you need to have Jira-Server (in cloud it is not possible). Remapping is needed because it is not possible to reliably find this Epic issue-type via the API.
How to map the Epic
- In the cockpit under ALM configuration, edit your Jira configuration.
- Navigate to the "Team mapping" screen.
Scroll down the page, you should see the following:
If you did not rename you Jira Epic, you will not see this dialog. In that case you do not need to re-map at all.
- Select the issue-type which is the renamed Jira issue-type from the dropdown. (You do not need to click save, the change is automatically applied)
